Necklace & Fabric

This weekend I went to Shepherd's Bush Market hunting for fabric. The quest was not so difficult as fabric shops alternate with textiles shops there. (Julie, this place is for you!)

This is the fabric I bought.
Those are beads I previously made of self-hardening clay (takes two to three days to be thoroughly hard). Some in the picture have holes but there is no need for the necklace I am doing.

I collected and arranged them to make some kind of mid-long necklace with a bigger at the centre and smaller ones at the rear.
I choose a fabric with a small pattern (as the beads are going to be small) and cut it to have just enough to go around the bead with an hemstitch (a folded one, without even ironing). The length is the length of the fabric, about one meter I guess.
I put a bead, fold the fabric around it hiding the raw cuts and made a knot really tight as close as possible to the bead.
Same here.

Then I choose some assorted satin ribbons and tied them with the last bead. I cut the excess of fabric, folded it to do a hem and sew all together.
Here is the result; I love the colors!

And worn.
